Classical Fact
One of the most important relationships in the life of Johannes Brahms was with Robert and Clara Schumann. Robert Schumann wrote a glowing review of Brahms' music in his famous magazine, The New Music Journal. The Schumanns remained great supporters of Brahms and became close friends. Clara gave him piano lessons and advised him on how to invest his money. Brahms dedicated two years of his life to help Clara with housekeeping and caring for her seven children after Robert Schumann attempted suicide and was placed in an asylum for the mentally insane.
