When we purchased Cape Classical WFCC 107.5 and 104.7 The Rocket in 2007, the expectation was we would change Cape Classical to a more lucrative revenue radio format, but we did not. We did, however, replace the Rocket’s Hard Rock format with Ocean 104.7, our soft rock format locally programmed for the Cape.
With our 47+-year company heritage supporting Cape Cod’s arts community, we purchased Cape Classical WFCC 107.5 because its special blend of classical music is well-positioned for the Cape’s classical music and arts communities.
For 19 years, we continued our commitment to carry WFCC’s low revenue format, navigating through a rapidly changing media and economic landscape. Unfortunately, we no longer have that luxury in today’s Cape media and business markets.
The decision to sell Cape Classical WFCC 107.5 was not made lightly. It was based on our commitment to structure for stability and growth for our company and long-term, valued, people.
